We have the following list of financial assistance resources available.
Apply through your veterinarian in Southern, CA
If you live in Southern California and a veterinarian in the practice is a member of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association:
Angel Fund grants are provided through veterinarians who are participating Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA) members who are enrolled in the Angel Fund Program. Beacause funds are limited for each hospital, most participating veterinarians limit Angel Fund Grants to existing clients. To enroll in the Angel Fund Program or to apply for a grant, YOUR VETERINARIAN should contact the SCVMA.
The veterinarians are not obligated to apply for a grant. It is totally their own decision and, frequently, they reserve their appointed funds for existing clients.
If you are a resident of Southern California we suggest you contact your veterinarian to find out if someone in the practice is a member of the SCVMA and if they are enrolled in the Angel Fund Program. If so, you may qualify for an Angel Fund Grant.
Remember that, the veterinarian must take the first step by applying for a grant by contacting the SCVMA.
To find out if your veterinarian is a member of the SCVMA go to: www.scvma.org/find-a-local-veterinarian
More information about the criteria for Angel Fund grants can be found here:
http://www.animalhealthfoundation.net/how-we-help/angel-fund.html
The AHF does NOT have applications for the Angel Fund. The process is up to you and your veterinarian to start.
If you are in need be sure to look at several organizations for funding, not just one. The lists below give you additional grant/pledge sources.
Apply through your veterinarian in Los Angeles or Orange Counties
If you live in Los Angeles or Orange County: Boydston Senior Fund grants are provided through veterinarians who are enrolled in the Boydston Senior Fund Program. Because funds are limited for each hospital, most participating veterinarians limit Boydston Senior Fund Grants to existing clients. To enroll in the Boydston Senior Fund Program or to apply for a grant, if your veterinarian is a member of the SCVMA, they should contact the SCVMA. If your veterinarian is not a member of the SCVMA, please have them contact us at the Animal Health Foundation.
The veterinarians are not obligated to apply for a grant. It is totally their own decision and, frequently, they reserve their appointed funds for existing clients.
Remember that, the veterinarian must take the first step by applying for a grant by contacting the appropriate organization as noted above.
The following link will give you more information about the criteria for the Boydston Senior Fund grants: https://www.animalhealthfoundation.net/how-we-help/mary-edna-boydston-fund.html
